GRADUATES OF LAST DECADE (GOLD) AFFINITY GROUP

 The GOLD Affinity group was formed in Nigeria during the rejuvenation meeting on May 27, 2000. It was formally approved by RAB on August 3, 2002 with Engr. Isaac Adekanye as the founding chair.

 Nigeria Section GOLD was recognized by RAB for Innovation in 2000 and the award was presented to the Section Chair, Engr. Isaac Adekanye at the Region 8 Committee Meeting which took place in Seville, Spain in March 2001.

 The leadership of the group shifted to Mr. Joseph Orenaike at a meeting in Port Harcourt in February 2002. He represented the Section at the Region 8 GOLD/Students Branch Congress in Cairo-Egypt in May 2002.

 GOLD group has continued to play active and leading roles in the activities of the Section. The Treasurer, Mr. Eugene Omhonria was recently recognized for his membership drive in 2002 by the IEEE Membership Development Department.
